About Jade

Jade Avigayil Staples is a writer, researcher and cultural practitioner based in Cape Town. She holds a Master’s degree in Visual Arts from Nelson Mandela University. 

Her professional experience has developed across both gallery and academic contexts, including her role as Program Coordinator at a leading tertiary institution, where she lectured undergrad students on the art of research and writing within the Visual Arts Department, to serving as Gallery Manager of a prominent Cape Town contemporary space with three local branches and an established international art fair presence. 

Currently, Jade is dedicated to independent writing and cultural projects that explore the role of art in shaping social discourse. 

Her work is rooted in community, social justice, and activism, with a particular interest in projects that position art as a catalyst for dialogue and change.
